Weekend Repose (Restorative Yoga and Meditation) is the perfect end-of-the week retreat packed in just 75 minutes. In restorative yoga, props (bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps) are used in longer-held simple poses to achieve a deep level of physical and mental relaxation. The parasympathetic nervous system is activated, allowing the body and mind to rest and digest. Muscles and connective tissue are given space to heal back to their natural state. The practice concludes with a guided meditation, allowing for a recalibration of our focus and a shift into a more spacious way of perceiving the daily grind.

Yoga and essential oils are two strategies that can help create personal balance and alignment. AromaYoga is a 90 minute vinyasa flow sequence which builds in intensity and broken up with stillness in yin poses experiencing essential oils specific to our theme and intention for class. After a peak in strength building this class transitions to a slower pace and ends with a meditation to focus and still the mind. All levels are welcome.

This class combines functional core stability work with restorative and yin yoga. The first half of the practice is a hatha/vinyasa sequence that will gently build heat in the body and allow awareness to expand beyond the body through the use of the breath. Therapeutic grade Himalayan singing bowls, specifically designed for a subtle vibrational experience, affect the body on a cellular level. Our cellular structure is mostly intracellular fluid, so the vibrations have a ripple effect on the body and help to realign, retune and rebalance the body back to a natural state of resonance. Many times, pain in the body is washed away.

This unique class combines relaxing floor positions and Reiki* to bring you back to breath, calm the mind, and sooth the body. The intention of this class is to create deep relaxation with caring compassionate touch, to encourage emotional or physical healing, reduce pain and stress, and help the body find its energetic balance.

A powerful way to get your daily practice by providing a perfect blend of a full spectrum (whole body) flow and a guided meditation (Nidra) to seal the physical practice, leaving you energized and relaxed at the same time. The flow part of the practice, which consists of different variations of sun salutations, will use a minimal amount of cueing and talking so that the flow becomes the stepping stone for the ensuing meditation. In this class we will be focusing on the mind, body, and spiritual connection between mama and baby. We will explore what movements each mama needs for their body during their pregnancy and beyond, practice flows that can be used as a place to find peace and serenity, and explore how the 8 limbs of yoga can be used to find balance during a time of fast transformation that will forever change a woman’s life.

Our vision of this workshop is a mixture of gratitude for our members, simple tools for on-going gratitude practices, movement, meditation, meet and greet instructors, small biz support and celebration of life. 2020 is almost over!!

This 75-minute practice is perfect to end your weekend and prep for the week ahead. We will move through some mindful movement mixed with restorative yoga using props (bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps), and finish with a guided meditation. The flow portion will be gentle for all body types; whether you are recovering from something, have restricted movement, are pregnant or postpartum, or just want to take it easy and peacefully move into the week to come. The restorative portion will use longer-held simple poses to achieve a deep level of physical and mental relaxation. We will then conclude with a meditation that will help you carry a sense of flow and peace into the week to come.

Experience the benefits of self myofascial release in this two-hour workshop hosted by Yoga Medicine student Teresa Thissen. Myofascial Release is a safe and highly effective way to explore and heal the body and give a deeper level of awareness to the areas of the body that create tension and pain. Gentle pressure applied slowly allows the fascia (connective tissue) to lengthen, releasing tension created by trauma, injury, inflammatory responses and everyday stress. Because the fascia is a continuous web that connects all of the body, including the internal organs, addressing pain and tension in one area of may result in tension and pain release in a seemingly unrelated area of the body. Myofascial release shows us that the body is one system and that nothing happens in isolation from the whole.

Our foundation will service people living in remote villages on the Amazon River, dance teachers and students in Iquitos, Peru and children living in Northern Nevada with a variety of physical and social needs.

This Vinyasa class is a celebration of gathering together to move, breathe, and release. Expect a flow with emphasis on hips, shoulders, and spine. The first half of class will gently build heat within the body, and allow you to expand your awareness through the use of breathe. Through the second half, you have the opportunity to wind down through deep stretches that nourish the nervous system, muscles, and connective tissue. You'll drift off into a dreamy savasana and guided meditation.

All levels are welcome to attend, and you are encouraged to bring any props or items that make class even more enjoyable!

Class price is a donation of $20. More is deeply appreciated and all goes to the Foundation.

It holds more than our anatomy or a future child…it can hold old hurts, physical pain, and can be the key to a better wellbeing. Come and join Melissa Reslock and guest instructor, Katie Barberi as we explore how to use physical exercises, yoga, and meditation to better support the root to the female body.
